Mayor Setti Warren invites all kids to help Newton meet his Summer Reading Challenge!

Rising 6th - 12th graders can use our online reading log to keep track of the time spent reading.

There is so much going on this summer! Check out our events calendar.

This summer, we are working toward one tween/teen community goal: 400,000 minutes read!  If we achieve our goal, a generous donor will give the library a prize that three community prizes. The prize that receives the most votes is the one that will be donated if we achieve our goal. We will let you know if reached our goal and if so, what prize received the most votes at the Celebration. The prize choices are:

- comfy furniture for the new Teen Area

- Nintendo Switch

- Movie/Video gaming area

Minutes read toward our 400,000 minute goal: 195,243 (updated 8/28)

Join us for the Mayor's Summer Reading Ice Cream Celebration on Saturday, September 9, 2-4 PM to celebrate the accomplishments of our summer readers, ice cream courtesy of Cabot's! Mayor Warren will congratulate all readers.  There will be henna tattoos for teens by Noureen Design. Festivities will be held in front of the Newton Free Library at the Homer St. Entrance (or in Druker Auditorium in case of rain).
