Computer Class Schedule

Please call (617) 796-1380 to register, or speak to a Reference Librarian at one of our information desks.  Pre-registration is required for each class.  Classes are held in the Computer Center on the second floor.

  • eBooks from the Library
    With over 30,000+ eBook titles, the Library has something for everyone to download and read.  Bring your Kindle, iPad, iPhone, or Droid tablet and learn how!

  • Introduction to Job Hunting and Resumes Online
    This class will help job-seekers as they navigate the online job search environment.  In addition to learning about online job search vocabulary, participants will learn about the wealth of online and print resources available to guide them through the job search process.

  • Introduction to the Personal Computer and Internet
    Do you want to operate a computer and navigate around the internet better?  Then this class is for you!  We'll teach you the basic tools needed to master the online environment.

  • Introduction to LinkedIn
    LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network with millions of members and growing rapidly.    Come to a class at the Newton Free Library on Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30 pm to learn what LinkedIn is and how to use it personally and professionally. 
  • Optimal Resume
    Participants will learn to use the resume builder and other features of this comprehensive online resource for job seekers.
  • Social Media
    By the end of the class students will know and understand what social media is, how it relates to today's world.  Topics covered include, Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google+, Linkedin, Foursquare and more.

  • Your iPad and You: iPad Fundamentals
    iPad Fundamentals is designed for beginning and intermediate users who want to expand their knowledge of their iPad.  Learn how to effectively use the basic functions and applications that the iPad offers.  Attendees must bring their own iPad.

  • Twitter & You
    So you've signed up for Twitter, but now what?
    How to tweet best?  What to Tweet best, how to get followers and who to follow!
    Learn all this and more!
