Class Descriptions

  • Basic PC Knowledge and Skills
    Includes identifying the parts of a computer and how to use a mouse.

  • Internet*
    Covers basic Internet terminology and uses a web browser (Internet Explorer) to visit individual sites, navigate Minuteman's QuickFind! Massachusetts Websites, Newton's Subject Websites, and use search engines.

  • Information Literacy Classes**
    Learn to use print and electronic resources to answer reference questions or write reports and papers. Information literacy classes include a variety of topics:

    • Applying for a Job Online
    • Basic Legal Information
    • Genealogy

* requires proficiency using a mouse or "Basic PC Knowledge and Skills" class as a prerequisite.
** requires both "Basic PC Knowledge and Skills" and "Internet" classes as a prerequisite.
