In line with the advice from the Commonwealth, the City of Newton recently issued new recommendations to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community. These recommendations impact our hours and operations including events and programs.

Newton Free Library will be closed to patrons starting Friday, March 13-Sunday, March 22.

  • All library sponsored programs, classes and events are canceled. Cancelation details are posted on our library event calendar.
  • The March 28th Spring Fling Fundraising Gala has been postponed.

As this is a developing situation, please stay tuned to this page for updates as to when we will re-open.
