Greetings from the Newton Free Library!
On the heels of Governor Baker’s state-wide reopening dates, the Newton Free Library is carefully planning our phased reopening that is uniquely tailored to our large and active public library. We’re developing new work processes and will be rolling out limited library services to the community in the coming weeks. While we are all extremely eager to restore library services, this will be a gradual process because we are committed to your safety and the safety of our dedicated staff.
Our first priority is connecting you with physical library materials again via Library To-Go, our contactless hold pick up service. Dates will be announced soon! Please continue to place holds through our catalog or through the Minuteman Library app, and you will receive a notification when they are ready for pick up. We will follow up with an email to you with directions on how to book a reservation to pick up those items. Over the coming weeks, we hope to restore the ability to place holds on items from our whole network of libraries, but at this time, only Newton materials will be available.
Returns are now being accepted at our Homer St. book drop. Returns will be checked in more slowly during this time. There are no fines on materials now through June 30th.
Our robust array of virtual program offerings continues, check our calendar to see what’s going on this week and join us!
We look forward to seeing you again!
