Guide to Children's Mental Health Service

The Boston Bar Association (BBA) is pleased to publish this third edition of the Parents’ How-To Guide to Children’s Mental Health Services in Massachusetts (Guide) (pdf file).

Understanding our mental health system is a challenge, and navigating it can at times prove frustrating and discouraging. The Guide is designed to help parents in Massachusetts find the child mental health services and resources their children need. The Guide is the product of a collaborative effort with a wonderful partner—Children’s Hospital Boston. Children’s Hospital Boston  has contributed generously to the success of the Guide through its financial support, contributing authors, and community education efforts. In authoring the Guide, we also consulted with many families, mental health advocates, state agencies, and other stakeholders who hold markedly different views about our child mental health system.
