The National Theatre has announced a project that will see its National Theatre Live collection of filmed live productions streamed for free on YouTube, beginning with Richard Bean’s One Man, Two Guvnors.
National Theatre At Home will streamed live on YouTube for free every Thursday from 2nd April for the next two months, with each stream available on demand for the next seven days.
A host of accompanying content, including Q&As, interviews and post-stream talks will also be made available.
The current confirmed schedule is as follows:
Until May 14th: Anthony and Cleopatra
Starting May 14th: Barber Shop Chronicles
Further productions are set to be announced in due course.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, will be streaming a production of one of his musicals on YouTube each week to lift our sprits during the coronavirus lockdown. Each show will be available for a limited 48-hour period online every Friday from 7pm, with Jesus Christ Superstar, starring Tim Minchin, Chris Moyles and Mel C being the next on the list.
Shakespeare's Globe has announced it will release 40 productions on its Globe Player service over the next month for free. All Globe Player productions are captioned, with each show presented for two weeks on a rolling cycle from 6 April.
