Welcome to Tails and Tales: Newton Free Library Summer 2021!

Read books, have adventures, win prizes! Use Beanstack to keep track of your time spent reading alone or with parents, siblings or your friends. Audiobooks and Ebooks count too! You can also write reviews of the books that you've been enjoying. And check out all the fun adventures we've included this year. Don't forget that you can register as a family and read together, so there is one online reading log for all ages.

Children through rising 5th graders in the 2021-22 school year can win prizes. As long as you are registered on Beanstack, you will be entered in a drawing to win one of two possible prizes each week from 7/4 to 8/14 as long as you also log minutes; write a book review either on a postcard (found at the library) or on Beanstack; complete an adventure; or attend a library program (and fill in the relevant adventure). Each week there will be drawings for a family experience prize, such as a family pass to a museum or outdoor space, and an outdoor adventure backpack.

This summer, you can earn online badges for reading, writing reviews and having adventures! You are also welcome to set your own personal reading goals.

There's so much going on this summer. Check out our events calendar!

Tails and Tales! is sponsored by The Friends of the Newton Free Library, Mass Audubon, and Historic Newton highlighting The Jackson Homestead and Museum., the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
