MakerSpace Mission

The Newton Free Library's MakerSpace is a space both physical and virtual, designed to help adults and teens create, discover, and connect.

Who We Are

The MakerSpace is headed by the MakerSpace librarian, Janelle, with the help of a fantastic group of colleagues called the Maker Team.

What We Offer

While the MakerSpace is virtual, we're offering programs to keep your maker skills sharp!

Our projects are geared towards adults and older teens - younger kids may need their grownup's assistance.

During the first week of the month, come into the library to grab a Crafts-to-Go kit. These independent kits are first come, first serve and have supplies and instructions for a DIY project that you can do at home! There's a new project every month. Check out the Crafts-to-Go page to see this month's project and find out where to get supplies for previous months.

Want to make with others? Join us on Zoom for our Take & Make Programs! After registering for the class, you can pick up a Take & Make Program kit from the Library Circulation Desk, or request one for curbside pickup. Please note that we only have enough kits for one per registered participant, but a few days before the program we'll let you know where you can grab supplies yourself if you're on the waitlist or have friends and family who want to participate! Check out the Take & Make Program page to see upcoming and past programs.
