Newton Talks is an oral history project for the city of Newton. In 2016, multiple city departments including Historic Newton, the Senior Center, and the Newton Free Library came together to begin documenting the experiences of veterans with a connection to Newton. In 2018, the project expanded to include the voices of immigrants and long-term residents of Newton. As of 2019, Newton Talks is open to interviewing anyone who has lived or worked in the city, in order to collect, preserve, and share the stories of Newtonians of all backgrounds.
All interviews are transcribed and added to the library's catalog. Transcriptions are available online through Internet Archive, and audio and images are available on Youtube.
